After captivating more than 400,000 spectators across France, LUMINISCENCE continues its tour and is coming to the heart of Rouen for a series of exceptional performances in the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral. For the first time, experience a show where history, 360-degree video mapping, and live music merge to reveal this monumental structure as you’ve never seen it before. Brilliant light projections extend the cathedral, delicately highlighting every architectural detail—from its grand base to the soaring vaults nearly 30 meters above.

Act I: The Making of a Giant
From the first Christians of the Roman Empire to the Gothic splendor of the 15th century, trace the rise of the cathedral that witnessed the birth of Normandy.
Act II: Light and Shadows
Illuminated by the brilliance of its stained glass windows and the genius of the artists it inspires, scarred by wars and revived by hope, Notre-Dame de Rouen stands as a guardian of Time.
Act III: The Echo of Centuries
Home to the largest carillon in France, an organ gifted by the Sun King himself, and the legacy of one of Europe’s oldest choirs, the cathedral is a masterpiece that transforms into a monument of music.
Act IV: Eternalizing
Notre-Dame de Rouen looks toward the light of the future to heal the wounds of the past, continuing its infinite quest for beauty and eternity.
Artistic Direction: Ateliers BK
Under the direction of Pierre-Alexis Touzeau, the LUMINISCENCE orchestra musicians, joined by the finest choirs in the region, will revisit classical and sacred masterpieces and perform the entire soundtrack of the show live.
From Vivaldi to Fauré, with highlights from Holst, Handel, Gounod, and Vierne, these artists will transport the audience across centuries, from the Middle Ages to the present day. To fully showcase the richness of the cathedral, a three-dimensional spatial sound system will be employed, allowing the music to travel throughout the building and envelop the audience in a truly immersive auditory experience.

Luminiscence is committed to the conservation and enhancement of French heritage by donating a portion of its proceeds to the restoration of the organs of the Cathedral, which are part of our shared heritage.
Restoration goal
After years of intensive use, the grand organ now requires a major restoration. This project will focus on modernizing the transmission of notes, improving the stability of the wind system, and reworking the instrument's harmony.
