For the first time, experience a show where history, 360-degree video mapping, and live music come together to reveal this magnificent structure as you've never seen it before. The luminous projections extend the basilica, elegantly highlighting every architectural detail, from its imposing base to the top of its towers, soaring over 20 meters high.

The 360° Immersive Show

Sit comfortably in the nave, look up, and listen as the voice of the spirit guardian of the place guides you on a timeless journey. You are about to experience a 360-degree event, where history, video mapping, and live 3D-spatialized music come together to unveil the legend of this sacred monument.

Act I: The Vision of a New Identity

From the annexation of Nice to France arises an ambitious project: a grand neo-Gothic church. The young architect Charles Lenormand rises to the challenge, inspired by the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in the country.

Act II: Building Through the Storms

Despite historical upheavals, construction continues. From the foundations to the first stained-glass windows, and even through the 1887 earthquake, the structure grows, embodying the budding of a new culture in Nice.

Act III: A Vibrant Basilica

This church becomes the beating heart of Nice, witnessing both joy and sorrow. From its bells to its organ, it resonates with history and music.

Act IV: Legacy and Future

Elevated to the status of a basilica, Notre-Dame de l'Assomption symbolizes unity and hope. Facing modern challenges, it invites each person to carry forward its message of gathering and solidarity.

With a choir for a 360° experience

Every week-end the celestial voices of the choir and the power of the organ merge live to elevate the soundtrack LUMINISCENCE.

Thanks to a system of 22 speakers strategically positioned under the nave and 3D sound spatialization, the notes, voices, and percussion travel throughout the building, offering the comfortably seated audience an unprecedented immersive sound experience.

Background

The Basilica of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, a sacred and iconic monument in the city of Nice, welcomes several hundred thousand visitors each year. Due to this high volume of visitors, a modernization project is underway to update its visitor facilities to contemporary standards.

Restoration Goal

The project aims to renew visitor facilities, including seating and sound equipment. These improvements are designed to offer visitors a comfortable experience that meets today’s expectations.

Its Story:

The Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption in Nice is a major religious building, constructed between 1864 and 1868 following Nice’s annexation to France. Located on Avenue Jean Médecin, it was designed by architect Louis Lenormand in a neo-Gothic style, inspired by the cathedrals of northern France.

With its two 31-meter towers and large rose window, it stands as an important religious and architectural symbol for the city. The basilica is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, celebrated on August 15. Classified as a historical monument in 1975, it has undergone several restorations to preserve its splendor. It continues to be a central site for both the spiritual and cultural life of Nice.

What can I expect from the event?

With 360-degree video mapping and live music, LUMINISCENCE takes you on an immersive journey into the history of the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption in Nice. The music reverberates beautifully throughout this sacred space as projections light up the walls and bring them to life, highlighting the basilica’s architectural beauty. This breathtaking audiovisual spectacle reveals the basilica secrets, exposing the architectural craftsmanship of its builders, its spellbinding light effects, and its extraordinary acoustics.

How long does it last?

The experience lasts around 60 minutes. It consists of an immersive journey through the basilica's ambulatory, followed by a seated show in the nave.

Where will it take place?

The experience will take place inside the Basilica of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, 2 Rue d'Italie, 06000 Nice.

What time should I arrive at the experience?

The doors will open 20 minutes before the time indicated on the ticket. No late arrivals will be accepted.

Is there an age requirement?

The experience is open to all ages, but children aged 4 and under must be seated on an adult's lap.

In what language is the show performed?

The narration is in French. However, thanks to the immersive visual mapping and live music, the show can be fully enjoyed even by non-French speakers.

Is it possible to sit down?

Yes. Once the walk is over, you'll be invited to sit down in the nave to enjoy the show.

Is it possible to take photos or film videos during the experience?

Yes, you can take photos and film videos with your camera's flash switched off. However, cameras with telephoto lenses are prohibited.

Is it possible to eat on-site?

It is not possible to purchase food and drinks or eat inside.

Will there be toilets on site?

No, but there are public toilets nearby.

Is there a cloakroom on site?

No, there are no cloakrooms for public use. As the basilica is not heated, we recommend you keep your outdoor clothes with you.

Can I bring my dog?

Except for guide dogs, animals are not allowed.

Is it suitable for people with epilepsy?

The show contains flashing and/or strobe lights that may affect sensitive individuals.

Is the space accessible to PRMs?

Yes, the basilica is accessible to people with reduced mobility. If you are in a wheelchair, our team will help you easily navigate your wheelchair to the seating area.

Can I leave and return to the event?

No, all exits are final. Remember to use the toilet outside the basilica before the show starts.

Will it be possible to buy a ticket on site?

Depending on the number of places remaining at each event, it may be possible to buy a ticket on site.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets will be available to purchase on the Fever website from July 11. Tickets can also be purchased via the Fever app, available on Google Play and Apple Store.

Is it possible to request a refund?

This experience allows you to cancel your ticket up to 72 hours in advance. It is also possible to exchange it up to 7 hours before the event.

In the "Tickets" section of the Fever App, the "Change date and/or time" button will appear. Follow the steps indicated in the link to change the date and/or time of the ticket.

You can also contact us and include the ticket ID associated with your purchase.

Are tickets valid for other event dates?
